Tokyo, December 22^th, 2010 -- Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), an important government-related organization that works to promote mutual trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world, held the 2010 Tokyo International IPR Protection Forum, and invited UIP Attorney Liu Jing to delivered speech on Internet IPR protection. About 90 Japanese enterprises attended the forum.
 

UIP focused on IPR protection in recent years, especially on Internet IPR protection, and had become one of the leaders in enterprises IPR protection. In his speech, Attorney Liu Jing shared UIP’s experience of Internet IPR protection. He explained how to stop distribution of counterfeit products through Internet channels, summarized the difficulties and essentials in Internet IPR protection, and gave introduction on how to build an Internet IPR protection system with prevention function. Attorney Liu Jing also introduced UIP’s cooperation with Alibaba Group in conducting Internet IPR protection. In the Internet IPR protection practice, Attorney Liu Jing put forward the idea of “cooperation is better than confrontation in Internet IPR protection”, and hoped that more and more right holders and e-commerce platforms to cooperate and push forward Internet IPR protection to provide a secure and honest online shopping environmentand to push forward healthy development of e-commerce.

Yahoo-Japan spoke highly the idea of “cooperation is better than confrontation in Internet IPR protection” proposed by Attorney Liu Jing. Yahoo-Japan also communicated with UIP after the forum on its experience in cooperating with right holders to conduct Internet IPR protection.

“In the e-commerce age, Internet IPR protection had become a key topic of IPR protection. We have learnt the latest experience and trends in Internet IPR protection area from the speech delivered by Attorney Liu Jing, which would further push forward Internet IPR protection.” A Japan enterprisesaid after the forum.
